This lift was originally built in 1985 by Albertsson-Stadeli as a supplement to the Summit Double chair that ran next to it. In June of 2000 the lift was struck by lightning causing massive damage to the drive terminal, lift shack and snapping the cable. Doppelmayr was called in after the incident to fix the lift as well as install a new mid-station.
