First sketch of the new James Niehues map...

Hmmm, no Eaglet. Looks good though. I wish he'd come out with a coffee table book.

Eaglet has been in daily use for the last few years for the terrain park up there on King Con Ridge. It was built to get to the giant slalom start for the Olympics, and sat unused for a while. They have it painted up in yahoo colors like Three Kings, the other terrain park lift

I like it, although as always, it doesn't do the size of the Pioneer area justice.

Getting it all in one view is something PCMR has never done before though. Interesting to see how sprawled out The Canyons is, compared to PCMR's dense layout

Approval given for gondola to connect 2 Park City resorts

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Vail Resorts Inc. says it has received approval from Park City planning officials to build a high-speed gondola that would connect two ski resorts it owns in Utah.

The company said in a news release Thursday that the linking lift will join Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort to make it the largest ski area in the United States.

Vail announced plans for the connecting lift in December as part of $50 million in investments at the two resorts. Vail purchased Park City Mountain Resort in September for $182.5 million.

Other plans include major upgrades of two lifts, new and improved restaurants and better snowmaking.

The projects are expected to be ready by the 2015-2016 ski season.
