Hey Wally, if you go to Beaver Mountain, can you take some pictures. I think the lift at Beaver Mountain that's being replaced is probably the Miner-Denver lift.

I do not think sugar bowl will be getting a new lift this year as Crow's Nest is already a double. I have also heard that Mountain High North in California might be getting a new chairlift to replace the old giant poma.

I agree. They actually said in their plans that Big Burn's days were limited.

The reason for confusion regarding the sam's nob six pack is that the village express was originally going to be called the sam's nob six pack because it goes to the top of sam's nob.

Has anyone figured out if dino at hyak is going to be replaced this year? they should have enough funds seeing as though the northwest is having a good year.

Yeah, if its a Miner-Denver over at Beaver, if you could get pics, we are a little short on M-D pictures.

Thanks.

You have to remember they are still paying for their horrible year last year!

Crystal and the Summit are in the same situation. They need a really really good year to make up for last year. Crystal has said they need a really good year do do any improvments this summer.

Recent word has at at Winter Park that the old Outrigger triple will be reinstalled on the backside of Parsenn's for '06, sounded fairly certain. Much of that lift still partially stands in its former location. There was also talk of the Timberline lift being removed and "Parsenn Express" HSS being installed from the base of Sunnyside to the top of the current Timberline.--Then, there was rumor of them using the old Timberline to replace Looking Glass. Not sure if all that will happen this summer or if the HSS will be pushed ahead to '07 but the Iron Horse may be disappearing soon with no replacement unfortunately.

Loon Mountain will be installing a HSQ and a few other lifts either this summer or next. They just got the South Peak Expansion approved and should be breaking ground this summer. As for the beginner quad at Magic, no way. They might finish the Pheonix lift (blue chair), but that's probably the only lift related thing that Magic may do, unless it goes under new ownership.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Aspen has modified plans for Snowmass a bunch of times, I think I read about a Sam's Knob six pack awhile ago.

It looks like the replacement of Funnel FGD with a 8 person gondola is on for this Summer for sure. Plans are also to shorten the Assay Hill FGD (which will make an already short lift pretty darn short) and remove the Naked Lady FGT (Hardly used after the Alpine Springs upgrade in 1994ish). Replacing Big Burn does not appear to be a huge need unless there are major mechanical issues with it. I have never seen a really bad line down there. If they do replace it, it would be nice to have the bottom terminal located where the current Sheer Bliss originates and remove Sheer Bliss also.

You can forget he magic lifts. The blue lift is a double and we will be lucky if that gets done.

I have heard rumors of a capacity upgrade in the form of a HS6 or HS8 running the same line as the current Colorado Superchair but I haven't heard anything solid so if it's going to happen it will probably be quite a ways off. Also in the last few years I think they have made several upgrades to the Colorado chair so I wouldn't think that a full lift upgrade would be coming anytime soon.

Replacing the Colorado Superchair with a HSS or HSE would be A LOT of uphill capacity in that area since both the Colorado and Rocky Mountain lifts have a combined hourly capacity of 5600 pph and then you have the people getting off the Peak 8 Super Connect lift. Talk about slope congestion.

Crystal Chair at Blackcomb won't be happening for the foreseeable future. The 3S interconnect is 98% going to happen. There is also more than usual talk about a lift up Piccolo from the bottom of Flute bowl. Here's hoping.

Just out of interest, we recorded the snowiest month ever this Janaury. Over 460 cms of snow fell. Typical of my luck I wrecked my knee Jan 13th. :cursing:

That would not result in a plesant skiing experience. Allong with the rumor of a 6 or 8 I have also heard rumor that the Rocky Mountain chair would be removed and relocated elsewhere on the mountain. I personaly like that Rocky Mountain drops off at another part of the mountain and it keeps down slope congestion. The problem that plagues the summit and front side of dercum mountain at Keystone would happen over at breck if the colorado was upgraded in capacity.
