If you haven't checked out Snow-Forecast.com, do! It is amazing and seems to be always dead on.
The BC snow map is especially amazing coming up:
http://www.snow-fore.../next3days/snow
I have never seen 60-100 inches in 3 days before like this on the website!

The closed runs got ski packed very well !
Gotta love poachers! A patroller friend of mine said he took a phone call from the emergency phone at the bottom of Super Bee last week asking why the lift wasn't turning and could he please get a ride? (The Bee is closed and still has willows sprouting from the snow under it). My friend said, 'Sure, I'll be there with a sheriff's deputy'. The caller said, 'Oh, I'll walk. Thanks'.
The Flyer opens on Friday, just in time for me to go on vacation :)

Whistler breaks its November record for snowfall
Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, host to the Winter Olympics in February, set a record today for recorded November snowfall.
Seattle Times staff
In a ski season when the world will be watching and Olympic records may be broken, Whistler Blackcomb resort today reported its own record: the most snowfall ever recorded on its slopes in November.
The British Columbia resort will host many events of the 2010 Winter Olympics in February. The resort began lift operations last weekend on Whistler Mountain.
With 11 days remaining in the month, Whistler this morning reported 165 inches of snow in November, breaking the 2006 record when 164 inches fell the entire month. Record-keeping began in 1979.
The measurement is taken at the 5,400-foot level on Whistler Mountain. The resort's base, Whistler Village, is at 2,214 feet.
"This is an unprecedented start to the season," said Anton Horvath, Whistler Mountain weather forecaster. "The excitement of locals and guests alike is palpable, and the timing of this record-breaking event happening this year as we prepare to be a host venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, is just icing on the cake."
Storms this past week contributed 100 inches of the total, with 32 inches in just the past 48 hours. Environment Canada today is forecasting 20-30 inches of snow for Whistler Mountain in the next 24 hours, and the long-range outlook calls for snow throughout the weekend, with a possible additional 26-37 inches by Monday.
Whistler has been operating daily since Nov. 14. Today, the Whistler Village Gondola, Emerald Express, Big Red Express and Franz's Chair are operating. Full operations are expected to begin on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

I'm planning on getting a day trip to Breckenridge this Thursday (for Thanksgiving), however, it is really dependant on if they'll have some terrain on Peak 9 opened by then (in particular, it is dependant on them having opened the Mercury SuperChair and the Beaver Run SuperChair by Thursday). The current image from the Breckenridge website cam at the Maggie shows fully completed snowmaking on Silverthorne, and Peak 10 and upper Peak 9 both are virtually in good shape, per the Live Cams at www.brecklivecam.com. But it's still only about six or seven runs on Peak 8 open for now. Interestingly, though Northstar and Duke's Run have been opened, I don't know why they didn't start operating the Rocky Mountain SuperChair to eliminate the needed traverse from the Vista Haus.

Regarding the title of this thread-- it is? really?
NO measurable snow yet, NO snowmaking yet, although we've had a couple cold nights, but today, like the last 2 weeks, itll be in the 50's and sunny. Looks like at least Dec 1 for any 'making' temps.

Doesn't seem like it, We opened on fri. with two lifts and three runs all manmade! The guest were chomping at the bit to get there piece of it, but with no serious precip on the horizon, anticipation is fading. We need to pray for a snowy cold pattern!

Checking up in the status to if Peak 9 will be opening soon, I think it must be opening VERY soon.
This thanks to www.brecklivecam.com.
www.brecklivecam.com is a website with pages linked to display the image from a live webcam mounted to a building on the east side of Main Street in Breckenridge. There are two cams: North and South. The North cam faces north towards the intersection of Main Street and Lincoln Avenue. The South cam faces more south-southwest, and in such a way that it conveniently allows you to view Peak 9 and 10. The cams update once every five seconds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Anyways, when I was checking the cam out tonight, I saw a number of mysterious lights up on the trails of upper Peak 9. I would have misinterpreted the lights as something different, but remember that I am wise, and I interpreted the lights to be snowcats. This indicates that there is a rather adequate snowpack on Peak 9, and that soon, there will be terrain open off the Mercury SuperChair and Beaver Run SuperChair. I saw a number of tracks on lower Silverthorne while checking out the Maggie cam at www.breckenridge.com today as well. Another two to four inches are forecast for Summit County tonight.

In Marquette, there isn't much in the way of natural snow but at least there are cold temps for snow making now. Hopefully the mountain will open soon.

It looks like Utah will be getting its first real storm of the year this weekend and into next week. They sure do need it. It's been plenty cold enough to make snow but they hardly have anything natural yet in Park City
