Before Crystal could replace the Green Valley lift, they had to design the new lift so the base was in a different spot to avoid the wetland that the old lift was on.

That same problem had been a snag in the ability for keystone to re-locate the lower station of the River Run Gondola and Breck had problems in the cucumber gulch area under their gondola. They finally have approval for keystones relocate but no set date for construction as of yet.

Keystone's base is all on private land after a land swap with the USFS when it was built back in like 98. It's weird how even enviromentalists can stop people from building on their own land.

Yes it is. I think that the area arround the creek is actualy still USFS land since they had to be involved on the decision although it may have just been for an EIS.

I just received a email from the Powder Mountain office indicating they "plan" to replace the 30 year Borvig
Hidden Lake lift with a new HSQ from Doppelmayr CTEC, this summer. Creating the "Hidden Lake EXpress".
4.5 M$.
I have been bugging PM management about a summer time job for most of the past winter.

Time to go up and become a real pest!

Because the current Sunshine lift at Steamboat is still in pretty good condition, do you think that Steamboat will relocate it somewhere else on the mountain? I could see Steamboat replacing Bashore with it.

I think 4.5 million is about right since Deer Valley's were in the same price range.

It could end up at another ASC resort, and if history tells us anything, it'll be part of another Canyons lift swap. Didn't the Lookout/Short Cut lift at The Canyons come from Steamboat?

Don't forget about the possible HSQ going in at Tenney Mountain, NH. I have no idea who would be contracted to build it, but I would assume that it would be Dopp.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

I recently got back from a ski trip to Heavenly. While I was up there, I read an article saying the North Bowl express was going to be a high speed six. It also said Heavenly will be getting the Boulder experss and Galaxy express(both high speed quads) as well as Kirkwood getting the Caples Crest express(also a high speed quad) in the near future.

Rose Bowl at B.C. is a no. It seems it was a situation that if the gondola was not approved, and part paid for by avon, in time Rose would be upgraded but the gondola is a go so no Rose Bowl

Lookout was definetly not Clipper from DV, if that's what you're talking about. It went in before Clipper was removed, and Clipper had lifting frames, the newer grip style, and drive terminal with the rounded end, not the box. The chairs on Lookout (not the hanger arms, just the chairs) came from DV's Quincy/Wasatch triple though

Is that tunnel at Snowbird from Peruvian to Mineral Basin opening this year?

Jackson Hole, Wyoming DoppelmayrCTEC Double Headwall

No, the lift will be built in Rendezvous Bowl, on the east side, beginning near the upper terminal of the Sublette Ridge quad and ending up near the "Mountain Station" building.

New Lift At Big White
Big White Ski Resort is getting a state-of-the-art, six-passenger chairlift located at the base of the Ridge area.

The new Snow Ghost Express, named after the legendary snow covered trees famous to Big White Ski Resort, will be built by Leitner Poma at a cost of $7M.

The new lift will be adjacent to the current Ridge Rocket Express and the two lifts combined will generate an uphill capacity of 5,400 skiers per hour or 10 passengers every 7 seconds. It increases the hourly lift capacity at the resort to 28,000 riders per hour.

The Snow Ghost Express will be the longest six-passenger chair in Canada - 6190 feet, (1862 metres) long, and will have a ride time of just under six minutes. One of the features of this multi-million dollar lift will be a dual motor capacity, allowing it to run at full power if the backup diesel engine is required.

The record breaking number of guests during our Christmas, Presidents Week and Spring Break periods clearly indicated that we had to expand our existing carrying capacity, especially in the highest-traffic area of the Ridge ski pod. The Snow Ghost Express will definitely reduce the wait times to a minimum during these busy periods," says Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Big White.

Construction of the Snow Ghost Express commenced April 18th, 2006, a day after the resort closed for the season.
