I hadn't seen any images of the upgrades to the Steamboat Gondola yet, so here are a few I managed to snap. They're not great, but they were the best that could be done with the family in tow.
A few amateur observations:
- The return is pretty much all-new with the bullwheel relocated to the front of the terminal. It's now barely visible.
- The top drive is the same but most everything else seems to have been replaced.
- It's easy to tell what is from the original '86 gondola, as it's still painted blue while the new equipment is galvanized.
- The parking system has been upgraded and looks as if it might require less manual labor.
- New grips & hanger arms.
All in all, it seems like an impressive upgrade, though there are not as many moving parts to enjoy. If there's anyone with more insight, please chime in!
