I would love to do some reading on the specs of the new Quicksilver Gondola at Park City,. Does someone have a link on there website somewhere where I can read about the answers to such geeky questions as the length of the lift , distance between towers crossing Thanes Canyon, max height of lift cable above the ground over Thanes Canyon. etc. I am sure someone has the lift specs. Can I have it. i would love to read up, now that this lift is looking its true size in the pictures. I am truely impressed on how big it is and how fast it has been built. The speed of build of everything at Park City this year is impressive. Must be a huge army of workers , working on the onsite build. Thanks.

Good spot, Donald, those do look like the Agamatic grip rails on the gondola. Here's a pic that shows the King Con rails, can anyone tell which these are?

King Con will also have Agamatic grips. You can see the grip rails a bit more easily in this photo:

The bottom terminal of the Avanti Express lift has progressed to about the same point that the upper terminal has. As you can also see in the photographs, the tubes for the two hold-down towers at the bottom terminal, towers 1 and 2, have also been put into place. The heads for them, though, are still MIA.

In that Avanti Express photo, I think that I can see the crossarms for towers 1 and 2 on the right side of the photo just behind and to the right of the two white pickup trucks.

You know, I keep thinking that the new Avanti Express lift has two hold-down towers where the original only had one because of the shorter terminal length. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the UNI terminal (the new design) shorter than the CLD terminal (the original's design)?

I heard through the grapevine that LP is taking the used lift down at Red Resort that was installed last year- and re-building it after an engineering redesign and are just now starting it. Nothing on the website..is there any Red staff here? Something about it not being re-engineered after they bought it and installed it, just put it in as is, now having issues with it.

I have to toe the company line on this one!

Snippet from media release:
In consultation with Leitner-Poma Lifts, the original manufacturer of the Grey Mountain Chairlift, RED Mountain has authorized modification of the Grey Mountain lift towers. The modification will effectively lower the lift profile by reducing overall tower height.
The work is expected to begin on September 9 and take approximately eight weeks to complete. The lift will be in operation for the upcoming 2015-16 ski season.

Okemo's bubble conversion is going well: I think LP's new wood scheme is very nice looking!

So, are the chairs being fully replaced or are they just getting the bubbles added to them?

Interestingly, a concept of what the Legends Express lift's paint job will look like was shown in this photo explaining the details of the lift upgrade (although the photo done to show the paint job appears to be an obviously photoshopped picture of JHMR's Casper lift):

They are replacing all of the chairs with bubbles. The old chairs could possibly be going over to the new lift on the development side of the mountain. (not sure)
Is it common for mountains to change to bubbles halfway through the lift's lifespan?

More pictures from Lutsen's Facebook page.

They just poured concrete yesterday at the bottom terminal and it appears that much of the top terminal is now complete.

Progress has been made on the Avanti Express lift since the last photo update was published. Towers 1 and 2 are in, as are towers 25 and 26, plus the rope appears to be up. The pit for the loading carpet is also in place, and as expected, the new lift is going to have anticlockwise rotation, similar to the old lift.
