Not SE Aurora, but along I-70 there in Golden/Lakewood where you have Camp George West Colorado Correctional Center, and then you have a few out between I-70 and Peoria and Chambers Rd, thus you see signs out on I-70 that way too. Then of course further east you get to Limon and they are all over the place out there.

The underlying root to all this is the nanny state creeping into society. Maybe I am a conspiracy nut. They first start with legislating signage then policy, which E-Max mentions in the initial post. It is all about control the masses. Start small with signage generated from emotional based fear and before you know it the risk management hawks remove skiing from skiing. Fucking lawyers!!

Tesla had built his first step-up AC transformer in 1883, which allowed electrical energy to be delivered over much longer distances than Thomas Edison's DC (maybe one mile). Nearly everything we do today depends on Tesla's insight over a century ago.
