The land that PCMR leases used to be owned by United Park City mines until Talisker bought them out and it wasn't that long ago. The lease that PCMR had the land was still valid with the sale. PCMR forgot to send the lease payment of $150,000. I think it was a 20 year lease, which was a bargin for PCMR.

Does Talisker also own the land that the western half of Deer Valley is on? (Flagstaff, Empire, and Lady Morgan)? Thought I remembered that DV owned Bald Eagle and Bald Mountains, probably the Deer Crest HOA owns Little Baldy, and UPCM had owned the rest.

I am sure that no business/ski resort is perfect... everyone has their own way of looking at this issue for sure. I have worked for many ski areas, so I usually rate them based on the way they treat their employees and the resort itself. In my experience Vail Resorts has been hands down much better to work for then Powdr Corp, in fact they are not even comparable.. in my humble opinion. If there is such a thing as karma, I think Powdr may be getting a dose of it now.

I don't have anything against Vail. If they end up in control of PCMR, that is probably a good thing for skiing in Utah. Talisker just didn't make any effort to appeal to SLC locals and since I'm in that group, I dislike them for it.

Judge Ryan Harris has already ruled in favor of the landowner in the critical parts of the case, which centers on PCMR's lease of Talisker Land Holdings, LLC acreage. Harris earlier ruled the lease expired in 2011 and he has issued a series of other rulings in favor of the Talisker Land Holdings, LLC side. The PCMR side has indicated it would appeal.
PCMR's filing on Thursday says the resort wants the judge to use a "measured and sensible approach" to the rest of the case. The filing seeks:
- the postponement of the signing of an eviction order until Talisker Land Holdings, LLC's claims for rent and damages against the PCMR side are decided
- the postponement of a hearing about the manner of the enforcement of an eviction order until an appeal is finished
- a stay in the execution of an eviction order if the judge signs one
Talisker Land Holdings, LLC has said it would require PCMR to leave the disputed terrain within 60 days if the judge signs the eviction order, known legally as an order of restitution.
