These two pictures are from a place most of you probably don't see too much of. It was the biggest ski area I got to go to last year. First name the area, then...
Name the lift that this picture is looking up.

well, the name of the lift in the 1st picture is clearly visible in the picture itself.

Yes, it is. I was wondering when someone would notice that. That should make it easier to figure out where it is. Still, I have never seen this ski area being discussed on these forums before.

Yes it is at Snowshoe. As the picture says, the lift is the Soaring Eagle Express quad. Now, how about the other lift.

Yes, it is the Western Express. The midstation is used sometimes in the fall when they can't make snow all the way to the bottom. It is located about halfway up the lift, or about 750 vertical feet down from the top, or 750 feet up from the bottom. This year the midstation was not used, they got the run open all the way to the bottom right away.

Kind of pointless installing a detachable lift with a mid station that's not detachable, which forces them to run it at 450 fpm.

Much cheaper, though. Grouse Mt. (BC) has one on their Eagle Express, same reason.
