This is probably my favorite lift. Offers some great backcountry and in-bounds terrain at the same time. That is your hint btw.

During the approval process for the Prospect Basin expansion (2001), environmental groups argued against L12 (Prospect) because the terrain was too flat and would never provide a satisfactory skier experience. At the same time a contract industry planner predicted that L14 (Gold Hill) would only be an egress lift as the terrain was too steep and would never be skied on a regular basis. The same industry "expert" argued against L15 (Revelation) as it "would not sell any lift tickets." Today, the terrain serviced by these three lifts along with L6 (Apex) and L9 (Plunge) make up the heart and soul of Telluride's skiing.

I'm going to guess that "expert" isn't a quality skier himself. Prospect, Gold Hill and Revelation are excellent terrain, and having them right next to each other only makes it better. Gold Hill is my favorite terrain at Telluride, and anyone who looked at Alta, Snowbird, Jackson, Squaw, Big Sky etc. would know that terrain with that much sustained steep is special and absolutely skiers love it.

This "expert" sounds like a real idiot. Wonder if he got fired yet.
Prospect has amazing intermediate terrain, the prospect woods (essentially the tree runs off of gad 2 at Bird) and hike-to terrain.
Gold Hill has legendary in-bounds terrain and great hike to.
Revelation is a great bowl setting always having powder.
