Is anyone else mad at Delaware North for changing Badge Passes name and changing the Ahwahnee hotels name.

Delaware North didn't change the names-the US Park Service changed them. Legal battle with former concessionaire that trademarked the old names.

I meant to say that them making the US park service change the names and claiming they owned them was dumb.

In general, all government "service groups" are dumb. Live with it - it's their world (for now).
Worry more about the sheer idiocy being proposed by the B77.1 electrical committee.

Hi! Let me shed some light here. I've worked at Badger Pass since 1989, in the maintenance shop since 2002 and just last November became the shop foreman. Delaware North took over concessions here in Yosemite National Park in '93 after the previous owner, MCA was bought by a Japanese company. There was an outcry about a foreign company "owning" our national park, so MCA ditched us fast. We were pretty surprised last June when we learned Aramark had won the new 15 year contract over DNC. This has not been a very nice transition. No cooperation what so ever. We are still reeling badly from all of this. Most of our management bailed and was not replaced. I've only been able to make one parts order since the change, Pearson Parts was approved and I got a PO number for some stuff just last week. I had 2 of our 4 snowcats down for the last two weeks of the season (we closed 4/3) and while our accounting dept says Kassbohrer ATV is approved, no one bothered to set up a customer account with them. I'm watching the snow melt wishing I had the parts and supplies to do the lift maintenance that is more easily done while we can get around with cats. Very frustrating. The name change is the least of my problems, I still answer the phone "Badger Pass" anyway, Yosemite Ski And Snowboard Area is too much of a mouthful. Maybe "YOSASA?"
